Magdeburg is a city of 230 000 inhabitants and the capital of Saxony-Anhalt, and lies along the river Elbe. Founded by Charlemagne in 805, Magdeburg was one of the most important medieval cities of Europe. Strategically located between Berlin and the rich industrial and commercial cities of West and Northern Germany, Magdeburg is a thriving business location.
